Product Description
Affinity purified Succinylated concanavalin A (Succ-Con A) is derived from native lectin concanavalin A (Con A). It is a nonagglutinating lectin that has a carbohydrate specificity for α linked mannose and glucose, with a sugar elution of α-methlyglucoside + α-methlymannoside. Succ-Con A have been studied for their effects to induce marked proliferation of human peripheral blood lymphocytes. Succ-Con A exhibits mitogenic action equal to native Con A and both increase lymphocytes levels of cyclic GMP. Unlike Con A, Succ-Con at high concertation does not decrease mitogenic activity. Succ-Con A reversibly prevents the growth of normal cells and restores a normal growth phenotype to transformed cells. Succinylated Concanavalin A Lectin (Succ Con A) is labeled with tetramethylrhodamine isothiocyanate (TRITC) and has an appropriate number of fluorochromes bound to provide the optimum staining characteristics for this lectin. TRITC is a bright orange or red-fluorescent dye with excitation ideally suited to the 532-nm laser line. TRITC labeled Succ Con A can be used for cellular imaging applications.
