Glycans present on the cell surface regulate cell-cell interaction and signal transmission, which are important for communication between cells. Some cells contain unique cell surface glycans that have been utilized as markers for their characterization using flow cytometry. The use of lectins to detect specific glycans on the cell surface of live cells has been extensively utilized in enriching specific cell populations for proteomics and genomics studies. GlycoMatrix™ offers a variety of reagents for FACS analysis for detection & purification of such cell populations.
