This divalent ion solution contains Ca++, Mn++ and Zn++, and is used for lectins ECL/ECA, UEA I, UEA II and UEA I+II. For these lectins, the presence of metal ions calcium, manganese, and zinc is required for binding activity to occur. Divalent ions play key roles in lectin protein configuration and act as cofactors in many enzymatic reactions. This liquid solution has a concentration of 0.1 M.
