Ulex europaeus Lectin (UEA I+II) - Pure
Price: Regular price $176.64
Product Description
Ulex europaeus agglutinin (UEA I+II) is an affinity-purified protein composed of two hemagglutinins, UEA I and UEA II, which can be separated through salt or ethanol precipitation. Both lectins are homologous to each other and to other legume Lectins with various specificities. After peptidase digestion, carbohydrate-binding peptides for each lectin have been isolated, showing homology with similar peptides. UEA I specifically interact with the blood group H type 2 antigen, predominantly found in individuals with type O blood and to a lesser extent in type A or B blood. UEA II is not blood specific, but H type oligosaccharides serve as its best inhibitors.
Recommended Usage: Recommended dilutions of 2-10 μg/ml in 20 mM Tris-HCl pH 7.5, 50 mM NaCl, 1 mM CaCl2, 0.5 mM MnCl2: Less than 30 mg/ml will agglutinate human type O erythrocytes.
