Affinity purified Tulip sp. Lectin (TL) lectin is a tetrameric protein composed of four identical subunits which are not held together by disulfide bonds. TL is not blood group specific, but it does agglutinate type O erythrocytes more readily than either A or B cells. It has a carbohydrate specificity of N-acetylgalactosamine, galactose and fucose, and elutes with fetuin or thyroglobulin.
Horseradish peroxidase (HRP) is a 40 kDa protein that catalyzes the oxidation of substrates by hydrogen peroxide, resulting in a colored or fluorescent product or release of light as a byproduct of the reaction. It is most commonly used for blotting, immunoassays and immunohistochemistry methods. Tulip sp. Lectin (TL) is conjugated to HRP at an appropriate ratio to provide optimal staining characteristics.
