Succinylated Concanavalin A Lectin (Succ Con A) - FITC (Fluorescein)

Product Description
Affinity purified Succinylated concanavalin A (Succ-Con A) is derived from native lectin concanavalin A (Con A). It is a nonagglutinating lectin that has a carbohydrate specificity for α linked mannose and glucose, with a sugar elution of α-methlyglucoside + α-methlymannoside. Succ-Con A have been studied for their effects to induce marked proliferation of human peripheral blood lymphocytes. Succ-Con A exhibits mitogenic action equal to native Con A and both increase lymphocytes levels of cyclic GMP. Unlike Con A, Succ-Con at high concertation does not decrease mitogenic activity. Succ-Con A reversibly prevents the growth of normal cells and restores a normal growth phenotype to transformed cells. Succinylated Concanavalin A Lectin (Succ Con A) is labeled with fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) and has an appropriate number of fluorochromes bound to provide the optimum staining characteristics for this lectin. FITC conjugates have been used in a variety of immunohistochemical and flow cytometry applications.Â
