Lectins are detected by using biotinylated lectins followed by streptavidin-HRP, or using anti-lectin antibody followed by HRP-tagged secondary antibody. Similar strategies are employed in Western blot detection when HRP activity can be detected by ECL/ICL chemifluorescence or TMB1 colorimetric assay.
