Griffonia simplicifolia Lectin (GSL II) - Pure
Price: Regular price $113.85
Product Description
GSL II is an affinity-purified tetramer composed of a single 30 kDa subunit. Notably, it possesses insecticidal structure/function and is the first GlcNAc-binding legume lectin demonstrated to have insecticidal activity. This lectin exhibits carbohydrate specificity for α-Gal and α-GalNAc, specifically recognizing terminal GlcNAc. It elutes with galactose or N-acetylgalactosamine, and increasing the number of N-acetylglucosamine residues beyond two does not enhance affinity. GSL II uniquely recognizes exclusively α- or β-linked N-acetylglucosamine residues at the nonreducing terminal oligosaccharides and shows a preference for blood group A (-SA) over blood group B (-SA).
Recommended Usage: Recommended dilutions of 0.5 – 10 μg / ml in 1XPBS pH 7.4. 5-10 mg/ml will agglutinate Tk polyagglutinable cells.
