Affinity-purified MRL is conjugated to horseradish peroxidase (HRP) enzyme. HRP is most commonly used for blotting, immunoassays and immunohistochemistry methods. It is a 40 kDa protein that catalyzes the oxidation of substrates by hydrogen peroxide, resulting in a colored or fluorescent product or release of light as a byproduct of the reaction. This product comes in a stabilized liquid form.
For substrate use of HRP-labelled protein detection we offer our Intensive ChemiLuminescence (ICLTM) kit (SKU:20810000). ICL is a two-component substrate that contains a stable luminol solution with an enhancer and a stable peroxide buffer solution. It has a strong light emission and a sensitivity at picogram level that is highly suitable for the rapid detection of HRP-conjugated proteins. Advantages of chemiluminescent substrates over other detection methods includes multiple exposures, blots may be reprobed, detects and quantitates a wide range of protein concentrations, and yields greatest sensitivity of any available method.
We also offer 3,3_Ã‘Ã©,5,5_Ã‘Ã©-Tetramethyl benzidine (TMB, SKU:42000012) and TMB OneTM (TMB 1) HRP substrate for HRP labelled detection. TMB is a suitable substrate for the immunoassay of horseradish peroxidase and is a noncarcinogenic derivative of benzidine with an absorbance at 450 nm.
