ForMax™AMCA Avidin-D is produced by conjugating a coumarin fluorescent dye, 7-amino-4-methylcoumarin-3-acetic acid, to deglycosylated avidin.AMCA fluorophore excites in the ultraviolet (350 nm) range and emits light in the visible (450 nm) range producing a blue fluorescence. Paraffin-embedded tissues generally have little autofluorescence andAMCA Avidin-D in an excellent fluorophore in these labeling conditions over fluorescein conjugates. Furthermore,AMCA Avidin-D can be used for multiple labeling studies in frozen or paraffin-embedded sections as a single label or in combination with other fluorescent conjugates.
